In the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Jhagadia constituency had 3 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 2 seats were won by the Bhartiya Tribal Party, Jhagadia was one of them. The election for Jhagadia seat was comfortably won by Bhartiya Tribal Party's Vasava Chhotubhai Amarsinh defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Ravjibhai Ishvarbhai Vasava by a huge margin of 48,948 votes.
97.2% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bhartiya Tribal Party's Vasava Chhotubhai Amarsinh got a total of 1,13,854 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Ravjibhai Ishvarbhai Vasava got 64,906 votes. Janata Dal (United)'s candidate Chhotubhai A.Vasava grabbed 5,055 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 61.9%, 35.3% and 2.8% respectively.
In Gujarat Assembly election 2012, Janata Dal (United)'s Vasava Chhotubhai Amarsinh defeated Indian National Congress's Vasava Balubhai Chhotubhai by 13,304 votes.
